Annunciation

Today we celebrate the day that the Archangel Gabriel visited Mary in her home and told her the good news, that God had chosen her to be the Mother of Jesus. The Angel told her not to be afraid, because God had chosen her for this most special job. Even though she was still young and she didn’t know what her parents and Joseph would say, she trusted God and said, “Behold the handmaid of the Lord, let it be done to me according to your word”. As soon as she said yes, the Holy Spirit came upon her and she conceived Jesus, the Saviour of the World!
