All Souls

Today we pray for all the people that have left this earth and started their journey to heaven. When we die, our body stays here on earth, but our soul starts its journey into heaven where Jesus has promised us eternal life! As we learned yesterday, we are all part of the Communion of Saints and we must pray for each other to help one another get to Heaven. Today is a special day to remember those people we love who have died; we pray that Jesus will welcome them into Heaven with a big hug and kiss! We pray for those people who have died and have nobody to pray for their souls; they need our prayers the most so that they too can join Jesus in Heaven. We pray for the souls of people who had a lot of responsibility here on earth, like priests, rulers of countries, and doctors. Jesus expects these people to use their lives to do good things and their souls might have to go through a longer journey to be pure enough to get into heaven. Since today is such an important day, it is good to go to Mass and pray for all these souls to ask that Jesus would show His love and mercy on them and welcome them home into Heaven.
