St Joseph Cafasso

Joseph was born with a crooked spine, which made it impossible for him to stand straight and made it difficult for him to walk. This did not stop him from doing amazing things for God! He knew he wanted to be a priest when he was very young and began studying to be a priest as early as 12 years old. He became an incredible preacher and a wonderful teacher of priests. He loved his students and helped them to follow what God was calling them to do. He became good friends with St. Bosco, they knew each other from when they were kids. Joseph helped John listen to God and discover that God was calling him to help young boys in Italy who did not have a home. God called Joseph to help the prisoners in Italy, because they were treated very badly and even killed for their crimes. He helped so many prisoners turn to God and confess their sins before they were killed for their crimes; they died receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation and knowing that God loved them and forgave them. Everyone that knew Fr. Joseph loved him, because all He wanted to do was bring people closer to Jesus.
