St Joseph

Joseph was Jesus’ earthly father and Mary’s husband. He was a kind and gentle man who was courageous enough to say yes to whatever God asked him to do. When Mary told him that she was going to have a baby that was not his, he was kind and forgiving with her. When the Angel told him that he should take Mary as his wife and that her baby was God’s son, he believed in God’s messenger and did what he said right away. Even though Jesus was God’s son, he treated Jesus just like he was his very own child. He was a carpenter and worked hard all his life. He had a deep faith and trust in God and he shared this faith with Jesus as he grew up. He took very good care of Jesus and Mary and provided for all of their needs. He was brave and trusted in God to take care of him and his family.
