St Emma

Emma, also known as Hemma, was born into a royal family.  She was related to Emperor Henry II and was a Countess.  She married William of Friesach and they had two boys.  Emma was always very generous with what she had; she always gave to the poor. Everybody loved her so much and thought she was a saint even before she died.  When her husband, and later her two sons died, she started a Benedictine Monastery in Austria.  She also built ten Churches.  Later in her life she joined the monastery in Austria and became a nun. She spent her days in prayer and devotion to God.
