St. Boniface was a very well educated boy, taught by Cistercian nuns as a little boy in Belgium and then studied more in Paris. He was a teacher and then became a priest and then Bishop of Lausanne in Switzerland. He was Bishop in Switzerland for nine years, but then he had to stop because he made the Emperor mad by telling everyone how badly the Emperor and the priests were living in Switzerland. He spent the rest of his life in the Cistercian convent, with the nuns who taught him as a little boy.
