St Joseph Barsabba

After Jesus died, the 11 Apostles wanted to choose someone to replace Judas as the twelfth Apostle.  They wanted someone who could help spread the Good News about what Jesus had done for us.  They wanted this person to have been a disciple of Jesus from the beginning.  Someone who was with them from the time that Jesus started his public ministry, until his death and resurrection.  Jesus’ followers had two people to choose from, one was St. Joseph (who they also called Barsabba) and the other person was Matthias.  The 11 Apostles picked Matthias to replace Judas, but this did not stop St. Joseph from spreading the Good News of Jesus’ death and resurrection to as many people as he could.
