Assumption

Mary did not die when she went up to Heaven, she was carried or Assumed into Heaven while she was still alive! Mary was a very special person from the very beginning of her life, from the very day she was conceived she had no sin. It is no wonder that when it was time for her to go Heaven God wanted ALL of her in Heaven. At the Last Supper Jesus promises that one day we will get to be in Heaven with him, with our body as well – it is a wonderful promise and He shows us that He means it by bringing His Mother into Heaven body and soul first. No one really know how Mary was taken into Heaven. When Jesus was taken into Heaven (in the Ascension) the Apostles saw Him taken up in a cloud. Maybe it was the same way with Mary – it is fun to use our imagination to wonder what this event must have been like and to pretend that we were there waving to our Mother as she went home to be with her Son.
